Konkal Lime Microcement

Our Konkal Microcement is a lime-based decorative coating, developed with the aim of creating continuous surfaces without expansion joints, maintaining all the versatility and adhesion characteristic of microcement. Ideal for renovations, and can be applied directly to a variety of existing surfaces without the need for demolition, or for new constructions that value authenticity, comfort and a sustainable approach.

With two final finishing options, Konkal Microcement stands out for its ability to easily mold itself to the different environments and requirements of each project. The R (rustic) finish highlights the original texture of the materials, allowing the presence of the sands to reveal itself to the eye and touch. The F (thin) finish has a softer appearance, maintaining a balance between naturalness and functionality.

Aesthetically, unlike traditional microcement that tends to create gray nuances due to its cementitious base, Konkal Microcement comes to life through the soft light and natural nuances, typical of lime, generated by the manual movement of the application forming a subtle “tone on tone” effect, highly valued in contemporary architecture. Konkal Microcement is based on the same logic that guided, for centuries, the construction of whitewashed houses in Alentejo villages, where lime was chosen not only for its natural origin, but also for the way it protected and lasted. It is from this wisdom that Konkal Microcement is born, a material that combines sustainability, lightness and authenticity with a firm and reliable presence, creating surfaces that integrate naturally into the space and maintain their integrity over time.

Its lime base also provides advantages such as optimal breathability of the substrate, a lower environmental impact and excellent physical resistance, making it a sustainable and long-lasting option.

Available in 132 catalogue colours and thousands of customised shades, custom-tuned with UV-resistant pigments.

Recommended for floors, walls and ceilings, both outdoors and indoors.

Colors

Color perception in a digital environment is subject to variables such as screen calibration, color temperature and brightness, and can generate significant deviations from reality. For this reason, the choice of color should always be made through physical references. Our catalogue, exclusively physical, brings together 132 colours tuned and consolidated in a real context, representing a truly unique selection on the market. Each shade was developed to ensure chromatic stability, aesthetic coherence and a faithful reading when applied on site. We stand out in a unique way for our ability to incorporate and adjust color to the measure of each project. From universal references or physical samples, we develop shades that are completely customized and adjusted to the desired concept. To date, we have completed more than 5,000 projects with colours created specifically for each context.

If none of the catalogue colours meet the desired one, we develop the exact solution with no creative limitations.

Metodo de aplicação
1. Primer – Konkal R with fiberglass mesh Application of the initial layer of Konkal R with incorporation of an 86 g fiberglass mesh. This is where the anchoring to the support and the formation of the structural base of the system begins, contributing to the absorption of stresses and mitigation of the risk of cracking.
2. Second coat – Konkal R Application of a new layer of Konkal R, ensuring the total coverage of the net and the consolidation of the base. This step is crucial to give consistency to the system and ensure a homogeneous and properly leveled surface.
3. First coat – Konkal F Application of the first layer of Konkal F, where the decorative aspect begins. At this stage, the fine regularization of the plan and the technical preparation of the support for the definition of the finish are carried out, with the introduction of natural nuances characteristic of lime.
4. Second coat – Konkal F Application of the final layer of Konkal F, responsible for the aesthetic and conceptual definition of the coating. It is at this moment that the expression of the material, the intensity of the nuances and the final visual reading, typical of mineral systems, are controlled.
5. Sealant Application of a coat of sealant with the function of partially closing the pore, evening out the absorption and stabilizing the shade, respecting the breathable nature of the system. This phase creates a balanced basis for subsequent protection.
6. First coat of varnish Application of the first layer of varnish, starting to reinforce resistance to wear, scratch and staining, contributing to the durability of the coating.
7. Second coat of varnish Application of the final layer of varnish, responsible for sealing the system and ensuring its longevity, resistance to daily use and protection against external agents.
